Catching up!

Hope you all are good! Are you all getting ready for Christmas? Doesn't seem like Christmas yet to me. Guess it isn't yet! We still have to put up our tree maybe this week or this weekend for sure. We made all our cookies Saturday and buckeyes but hubby ran out of gas to dip them. So for now they are naked! He said tonight he'd get them dressed. I say this it loads of work and won't do them without his help. We will see. Been snowing for a few days but not hard. It was melting away as fast as it cam down until yesterday. We are starting to get a little snow and slippery roads. I could do without both.

I wanted to let you know about the awesome Grab Bag from the wonderful designers at VDBC. It is well worth the money. $35.00 worth of files for $7.00. They also just released the December Newsletter Here. Go check it out Kitty is giving a free file and has an Etching tut. Great job ladies! Thank You!!

Well I need to go work on some cards. I should get my Christmas cards in the mail. Enjoy Life!

Veterans Day

Hope you all thanks a veteran today. I thanked my hubby (he is the only one I've seen today). I have done thanked others on facebook.

Thanks for your comments! Love them! Still amazed about the voting thing.

I have to work on 3 computers (customers that are here) and my MIL needs updated, next week (she is still on dial up). So big updates are done here or I take them to her, then update. I should get busy but I need some fun time.

Off to work on some cards after lunch, wish me luck, having trouble getting to them.

Enjoy!

Voting and parents

Well I got a post about voting and parents? To tell you what I think, no some schools and parents don't teach this. I know both my school and parents taught me about voting.

Wish schools would teach kids at the high school age at least a semester or quarter about life, voting, checkbooks, credit cards, loans, jobs, family life, maintaining cars and houses. This should be a must for all students, I think!

Sure would help them be more responsible and be accountable!

Vote

Did you remember to go vote? We voted weeks ago by absentee ballot. Hubby wasn't sure if he would be in the state. Well it turned out he is. He got a bid back in his yard for a backhoe operator. He even brought home photos of it on his phone. LOL, don't tell him I laughed.  But to me one John Deere backhoe is the same as any backhoe. He is the only one on this team right now, the other positions are still open for bids. So, for now he is helping with yard maintenance, roads or tracks.

Austin is doing great and back to going in and out the doggie door as he pleases. Last night he caught another cat in the garage on his way out. He chased him out to the barn. When I seen him, he was all puffed up. Feels good! We wormed him the other day since he was due. The barn kitties will be due next week and then everyone will be back on the same schedule. Makes it easier with all these barn cats.

Well go vote if you didn't already, many men and women have fought or given up their lives for this right. Including my grandfather, FIL, and hubby. Make them proud and VOTE!

Austin and update

Hello, seems like time has flew by since my last blog post. Not always the best blogger. Been busy with life things, swaps, raffle tickets for the fire departments, vinyl signs, and doctoring Austin. Austin is a barn cat that has decided to be inside the house when he wants to (uses the dogie door). This isn't all bad, he use to go outside to potty but he would bring in birds and mice to share with the 2 house cats. Not alot of fun but at least they all have been dead.

Anyway, Austin had punctured a lung sometime and it got infected. Since he comes and goes and he had only been in lat at night we didn't know he was hurt until one day while napping. We noticed he was breathing really hard. When I touched him he was really really thin. I tried to get him to eat anything but only would eat a few peaces of cut up chicken breast. Not enough to feed a bird either. So the next day I called the vet and took him in. I wanted to know what was wrong and make sure it wasn't something the other 2 would get as well. I had to leave him for some test. Vet called and said all test so far had been negative and the next thing was to insert a needle and see what came out. It was infected blood. He took and xray only to find Austin had 1 lung full of this infection and it had gotten into his chest cavity too. So they sedated him, put in a chest tube to drain this, a feeding tube since he was so thin and weak, and kept him over night. The next day we could take him home and keep him quiet. We had a trip to leave for the next day, so, I stayed home and my husband went to his week in Atlanta for school. Austin has had some bad days and was eating very little. So, vet tells me to feed him anything and everything he will eat. He has been in a cage (dog kennel) with 2 different types for food and water for 2 weeks. He now is allowed out of the cage but has to go in at night for this week and next week we try loose in the house 24/7. He has learned to use the litter boxes, we have 3 now. He is eating tuna fish 2 times a day and dry food at night, I'm sure he should eat ore but this is all we can get into him. Also, takes antibiotics in lunch meat 2 times a day going on week 3 and has 1 more week after this. His staples are all out 2 by Austin and the rest the vet took out. Got a bump in front of them but the vet says in is a healing scar tissue and hopefully it goes away but wont hurt anything. I'm hoping this week we don;t have to go see the vet, been there 1 or 2 times a week since this all happened. The past 2 days have been great days for him, breathing better, begging while we eat, getting up on his window perch (only a foot off the ground), and meowing more and more. He is not better but seems to be on the up hill. Even seems to be finally gaining some weight. Don't we all wish we had to gain weight.

Oh while in Atlanta, someone broke into my car. Stole nothing, not even the $5.00 in change. Just costing me $100 to get it fixed this week. Messed up the lock, door handle, and paint. Insurance is paying for $30, $100 deductible. Thanks Atlanta!

Well thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, they work! Ginger

Dentist

So I went to the dentist today, NOT FUN! I have to go back next week for cavity on the right side, last molar. I swear no matter how much I floss, brush, and rinse, I seem to always get a cavity. Dentist says I have weak enamel. I'm wondering about more crowns (I have one) or even dentures. Oh, I can't believe I said that. Reminds me of a scary man that use to stick his dentures out at us as kids and flap them to get us to move along past his sidewalk. This was on the way to the park playground from the babysitters. Mind we started going to the other side of the road to not deal with him. Which meant crossing it 2 times. Well, I'm almost not numb and should go get some lunch and then work on some swap pages. Have fun and enjoy life! Ginger
